Upper Canada Child Care is looking for passionate and committed child care professionals to join our Team located at Cookstown Central PS (Cookstown, ON).

We are currently recruiting for Accommodation Support Facilitator/Assistant Educators.

Starting Pay: $17.05/hour

Position Types: Part-time (15-24 hours/week) & Casual Supply status (variable hours).

POSITION SUMMARY
To assist the teachers in program delivery and in the design and implementation of Individual Support Plans. To ensure operational requirements are met in compliance with all Ministry and organizational guidelines. To work with teachers, parents and outside agencies in order to best serve the needs of the program and individual children. The overarching goal is to enhance the classroom ratio and provide an inclusive environment through ongoing collaboration and communication.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • A recent Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Health assessment and up-to-date record of immunization as outlined by legislation.
  • Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid (training provided upon selection if required).
  • Knowledge of the developmental needs of children and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge.
  • Skills and experience in working with children with various types of special needs, such as developmental delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, social/emotional and behavioural difficulties preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families, caregivers and other professionals.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional disposition.
  • Have the physical and emotional stamina to supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces.
