JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, working with the accounting team, the Senior Full-Cycle Accountant will work to deliver accurate and timely reporting for business leaders to make decisions. The Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of companies and must have an intermediate or expert level of QuickBooks, MS Excel and Financial Reporting. The ideal candidate will be detailed, accurate and diligent at organizing their time and work requirements.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITY

  • Maintain and take ownership of full cycle accounting on an assigned portfolio of companies. This includes journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly financial statements for assigned portfolio. Be prepared to answer management questions about the statements and explain results.
  • Prepare and submit HST, EHT and WSIB reports on schedule.
  • Responsible for the financial setup and onboarding of newly acquired entities.
  • Responsible for training junior and intermediate accountants as required.
  • Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures and recommending improvements when possible.
  • Comply with federal, provincial, and local financial requirements, advising management on any exposures or liabilities.
  • Assist teammates with other duties when required.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA designation.
  • 5+ years of progressive professional accounting and/or finance experience.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work by deadlines.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, including an ability to challenge the status quo.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and business acumen.
  • Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
  • High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
