General Purpose

The Accounting Administrator is responsible for all activities as assigned to support accounting and payroll requirements. Accuracy of all data entry is imperative to maintain regulatory compliance and meet accounting and payroll deadlines. Must be able to travel between St. Thomas and Ingersoll locations.

Prerequisites

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting, preferably in the transportation industry
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with QuickBooks
  • Advanced communication, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • No criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted

Operational Responsibilities

  • Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners
  • Conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times
  • Responsible for all invoicing, AR and AP, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards
  • Responsible for the preparation of AP cheques and electronic payments
  • Responsible for balancing vendor statements
  • Prepare and distribute invoices as per required schedule
  • Maintain and distribute POD’s, and provide upon customer request
  • Advise Accounting Supervisor of delinquent customer accounts or any customer concerns
  • Assist in the preparation of month end and year end
  • Complete all aspects of weekly payrolls using ADP
  • Maintaining filing systems
  • Professional and courteous conduct at all times representing the company at the highest standard
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Salary: $43,751.00-$46,078.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Tillsonburg, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Accounting: 2 years (preferred)
  • QuickBooks: 2 years (preferred)
