Assistant Financial Controller

Summary

The Accounting Clerk will prepare correspondence, statements and other materials related to the finance department. The Accounting Clerk will assist with the daily financial needs with respect to A/R, A/P and monthly invoicing as well as financial responsibilities as required. The Accounting Clerk also will be responsible for will be responsible for providing daily transactional support to the Assistant Financial Controller. Clerical work will include filing of correspondence, invoices, receipts and other records within the required ordering system. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.

Job Duties

  • Organize filing of all appropriate documents.
  • Prepare monthly submissions for accounting and monthly remittances.
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable.
  • Process claims and vouchers for payment, enter invoices, match invoices with purchase orders, and check all claims for accuracy.
  • Act as contact with vendors regarding billing problems.
  • Perform clerical duties, such as maintaining filing and record systems.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
  • Post customer payments, whether by cash, check, credit, and other forms of payment
  • Reconcile customer accounts, manage collections, and follow up on outstanding accounts in a timely manner
  • Fax, photocopy and scan documents as required.
  • Organize, maintain, and coordinate office records and files in their proper locations.

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and comprehension.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Highly organized.
  • Service oriented.
  • Able to generate or use different sets of rules for combining or grouping things in different ways.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Able to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences in sets of letters, numbers, objects, patterns and pictures.

Work Conditions

  • Regular interaction with managers, clients, staff, visitors and government agencies.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Overtime as required.

Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 4:30pm

Must be able to report to Delta office 5 days per week.
40 hours per week.
