Personal Injury Law Firm

Job Tasks

1. Experience at a personal injury firm (6+ years)

2. Reconciliations of accounts, including Trust, General and credit card accounts

3. Process banking transfer from accounts

4. Process email transfer & EFT payments in the bank

5. Conduct bank-to-bank transfers in PCLaw

6. Accounts Payable - post invoices, print payable ledger reports, process payables, and contact vendors to process payments with credit cards or with questions relating to invoices

7. Process lawyers' expenses

8. Using expense recovery to process client disbursement

9. Contact LawPRO & LSUC for any requests required by the firm

10. Accounts Receivable - receive client's payment online, through e transfers, and over the phone using a Moneris device to process and post client payments, and process trust transfers to the general account

11. Send WIP reports to the lawyers

12. Billing - create pre-bills, interim bills and final bills

13. Write up dockets and disbursement to adjusted amounts as per the lawyers' requests

14. Prepare Transaction Levy every quarter

15. Assist the finance manager with any inquiries on PCLaw and assist bookkeeper with reconciliations

16. Manage the filling system and organize all filling

17. Manage the firm's daily banking and deposits using a Deposit Edge device

18. Manage the firm's petty cash

19. Using PCLaw software to post expenses for client disbursement, billing, matter to matter transfer, trust to general transfer, write off & write post trust deposit & general deposit.

20. Using QuickBooks for accounts payable, reconciliation, billing, reports

21. Respond to client accounting inquiries

22. Review daily banking activity

23. Update information on numerous GIC's

24. Prepare and file monthly HST reports

25. Maintain records of membership, corporate renewals with LSO and LawPro

26. Manage/liaison with staff and office management

27. Ability to perform forensic accounting tasks

28. Client intake information on a monthly basis

29. Payroll/benefits processing

Salary commensurate with experience.
