You are experienced and adept at dealing with the various aspects of accounts receivable and you know your way around accounting software. And while you love to work solo, you are no stranger to teamwork; your communication and people skills are flawless.

Sound like you? Goodness Me! is currently seeking an experienced, full-time Accounts Payable Coordinator for our Central Office Team. This position is a 12 month contract with the possibility of extension.

Your day-to-day:
Reporting to the Controller, you will work as a member of the finance team responsible for the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions and related tasks. The successful applicant should have a positive attitude and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Other tasks and duties include:
  • Use of software programs to process a large quantity of orders for weekly payment
  • Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to solve order-related issues
  • Reconcile AP transactions
  • Assemble, review and verify invoices and cheque requests
  • Track expenses and process expense reports
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Maintain vendor files
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
  • Produce monthly reports and assist with month end closing
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits
  • Maintain confidentiality of organizational information
  • Data input and management as processes and systems are improved
  • Business analysis and reporting as required
  • Other duties as assigned
What you bring:
  • 3+ years of previous AP experience or a degree, diploma in business, finance, accounting or a related field.
  • Detail oriented with an aptitude for numbers
  • Self starter who can learn new skills and see/implement process improvements
  • Can work independently with minimal oversight with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suit, particularly Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Location and Travel:
You’ll spend most of your time working remotely, but approximately 40% of the time you’ll be expected to travel to our Goodness Me! Upper Gage location in Hamilton.
