Adecco is currently hiring an Administrative Assistant for a 12-month contract to work full-time hours for our client located in Ajax, ON. In this role, you will be providing a supportive role in the office to perform various clerical duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Location: Ajax, ON
  • Pay Rate: $20-$25/hour
  • Availability Required: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
  • Job type: 12-month contract

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Department with cross-site compliance matters and initiatives.
  • Assist the Designated Official (DO) with Controlled Goods Employee Security Assessments. This will include overseeing criminal record name checks, conduct personal reference checks and assisting with all administrative-related requirements.
  • Assist the Customs Compliance Specialist with administrative tasks related to customs/import compliance.
  • Assist with Export Classification requests.
  • Maintain and monitor a dedicated export control database.
  • Assist with record keeping requirements.
  • Support functional areas to ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
  • College diploma in Business Administration, Law, Customs Border Services or equivalent,
  • Bachelors in Admin/Science is preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years of administration or customer service experience.
  • Pass applicable security clearances in order to be compliant with CGP/ITAR requirements.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Defense Production Act (DPA), the Controlled Goods Regulations (CGR) the United States Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) as well as Canadian Human Rights, Employment Privacy Act, etc.
  • Proven ability to operate as a team player working with employees at all levels.
  • Strong organizational, planning, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information.
  • Advanced competency in MS Office suite of tools (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of IT/IS systems and/or Cybersecurity would be considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow up on outstanding issues.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
