About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Administrative Assistant for the Human Resources Department contributes to the overall departmental goal of delivering innovative HR programs and services which maximize the success of employees to advance the WCB's vision of a safe and secure Nova Scotia.

Work in this role includes performing a wide range of administrative tasks and provides support for two teams (Human Resources and Change & Organizational Development) as well as the Human Resources Leadership team. This role ensures the overall efficient administrative operation of the entire team, its programs and services including, but not limited to recruitment, on-boarding, learning and development, organizational development, health, safety and wellness, and payroll and benefits.

The Administrative Assistant, Human Resources, is responsible for administrative duties such as: reception, records management, procurement; invoice payment and processing, the production of correspondence and other required documents, accurate and timely filing, managing electronic employee files, entering departmental attendance, scheduling meetings for team members, providing proactive calendar management for the HR leadership team, responding to general customer inquiries, maintaining office supplies by checking inventory and ordering items and the

maintenance of office equipment, including computers, phones and photocopiers/printers. The Administrative Assistant-Human Resources demonstrates a high level of confidentiality in managing private and sensitive information.

This role independently manages their workflow and schedule on a daily, weekly/bi-weekly, monthly and annual basis to ensure work is completed accurately and within required timelines. Multi-tasking and managing multiple competing priorities in a client-centered environment is a critical success factor of this role.

As an ideal candidate:

You will possess a one-year Office Administration diploma plus two years' experience working in an administrative or combined administrative and customer service role. You are proficient with office software such as, MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and various types of office equipment.

We offer a competitive compensation package including a salary range of $43,886 to $54,817.
