Our Patient Care Services department consists of the Patient Care Centers, Home Collections and Customer Care Center teams. They play a critical role in the customer service delivery as they have direct contact with our customers on a daily basis. This position will be supporting the leadership teams of the Patient Service Centre's, Mobile Collections and Customer Care Centre.

Major Functions and Responsibilities

  • As a member of the team, you will provide support in day-to-day functions; assist with project work and client support, liaise with other departments, managers and staff to facilitate information gathering and problem resolution.
  • Assists with compiling, formatting and ensuring accurate distribution of letters, reports and presentations.
  • Performs computer-based work utilizing multiple software programs including use of the Laboratory Information Systems and SharePoint
  • Calendar management for Managers of Community Services as required (including meeting organization with both internal and external individuals)
  • Responsible for compilation of statistical data using Excel and proprietary software.
  • Screens, sorts and distributes incoming mail.
  • Manages distributes and forwards department absence calls from 0545-0800 hours as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, as well as oral and written skills
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office( Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Display a high degree of confidentiality
  • Advanced organizational and computer skills using a variety of software applications
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks quickly and accurately.

Required Experience
  • Recent experience in Patient Care Service department is an asset.
  • Previous administrative experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of QME is an asset.
  • Experience in a medical or laboratory environment as well as EPIC an asset
  • Ability to work effectively in a high pressure, fast paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Administrative Assistant diploma or equivalent experience

  • The current shift indicated is subject to change due to operational requirements.
