Your Opportunity:

You will be responsible to provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of multiple managers and departments. As part of a multifunctional team, you will interact with AHS employees, residents of the facility, visitors, contracted staff and physicians. As a successful candidate, you must demonstrate critical thinking, effective communication, time management, and flexibility. You must have an ability to foster and promote teamwork, collaboration and partnerships to manage and resolve complex and confidential situations. Attention to detail will be crucial as you ensure that employees are scheduled appropriately, and employee pay data is captured in accordance with AHS policies, procedures and collect agreement provisions. Demonstrate technical and interpersonal communication skills in a fast-paced environment while adapting to frequent interruptions and shifting priorities. As a successful scheduler your key responsibilities will include filling pre-booked and immediate shifts that result from staff vacation, leave of absence, illness and education leave, anticipating staffing needs and informing managers of shifts that require further attention and entering data for payroll. Understanding these responsibilities, the ideal candidate will focus on developing trusted relationships, effective interdisciplinary communication with staff/coworkers/visitors/residents and family. Customer service – telephone and virtual communication etiquette (i.e., Zoom, Teams).

Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written as well as strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Strong organizational/multitasking, planning and time management skills as well as strong ability to attend to detail. Ability to work and adapt within short timelines. Willing and able to work independently and as part of a team. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft office programs, data entry, email and internet are required. The successful candidate must have a positive attitude, demonstrate professional image, exceptional customer service ability, be a strong team player and be flexible with the ability to adapt to change. Physical demands of the position include sitting to complete computer work for short periods with ability to stand quickly. Lifting office/medical supplies and equipment up to 35 lbs. Lifting, bending, reaching, and standing for moderate periods. Able to walk the length of the facility more than twice in a shift. Able to request/accept verbal or written direction. Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency with various AHS computer applications including e-people, time entry, and RMS. Experience in scheduling staff, experience with public including seniors. Demonstrates creativity, innovation, enthusiasm, and respect. Experience with i-expense. Processes accounts payable/receivable.
