MISTRAS Services is seeking well rounded Advanced Services Technicians for several full-time positions at our Saint John, NB location! Looking for motivated, experienced individuals that are trained and certified in Pulsed Eddy Current, EMAT, Automated Ultrasonic systems, Guided Wave, and Ultrasonic disciplines including Shearwave, and Phased Array.

Position Summary:

The Advanced NDE Services Technician will independently perform inspections utilizing various advanced NDT (Phased Array UT, PEC, GUL, EMAT, ACFM, ET) techniques seeking corrosion, defects, or detrimental conditions in accordance with specific written criteria.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Technicians will perform inspections, interpret indications, and report results per company requirements
  • Communicate processes, procedures and results to Mistras Customers
  • Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concern
  • Performs all duties as assigned and adheres to MISTRAS’ Core Values
  • Supervise Apprentices on the job site
  • Maintains advanced NDT certification
  • Performs NDT inspections for which certified
  • Interprets and reports results of inspections
  • Technicians will be required to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 yrs experience in NDT field as a certified technician in at least 1 advanced NDT method
  • Certified to Level II in a minimum of one methods (Phased Array UT, PEC, GUL, EMAT, ACFM, ET)
  • 3rd Party Qualifications a plus (i.e. PCN, etc.)
  • Experience in full automated robotic systems for corrosion mapping as well as weld inspection
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Word
  • Ability to work with computers / computerized equipment
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate well in English is a requirement
  • Travel requirement; 0-75%
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively

Physical Job Demand:

  • Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds
