The opportunity:

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Graduate Studies of the Faculty of Science, the Alumni and Awards Lead has three major responsibilities:

· Managing all trusts, endowments and awards that flow through the Faculty of Science at the student, staff, and faculty level

· Developing and implementing an overarching alumni engagement strategy that builds and maintains lifelong relationships between the Faculty of Science and its alumni

· Graduate student recruitment

The incumbent works in consultation with the Faculty of Science Communications and Engagement group and the relevant Associate Deans in the Faculty of Science.

The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:

MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:

- University Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in the sciences.

- A Master’s degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

- Three years of directly related experience (eg. alumni relations, donor relations, endowments and/or awards processes) is required.

- Experience with event planning and leading a variety of strategic projects is required.

- Experience working with external stakeholders is required.

- Experience in public speaking and making presentations is required.

- Experience with alumni software (Raiser’s Edge) is considered an asset.

- Experience with Financial systems such as FAST is an asset.

- Experience with student record systems such as Aurora is an asset.

- Experience with marketing and communications is an asset.

- Experience working with students in a university environment is preferred.

- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
