Penn Engineered Fasteners Corp is a specialized distributor of engineered fasteners to the automotive and industrial industry throughout North America, Asia and Europe.

We currently seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to become part of our team.

An Applications Engineer works closely with Account Managers, Customer Service staff and Quality Control to build strong relationships with customers and suppliers in order that PENN Engineered Fasteners becomes the supplier of choice.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists with managing key accounts as set forth by the Director of Sales and the General Manager to help increase sales and optimize our added value
  • Be an extension of our customer’s engineering teams by being active in design work which will fuel the sales pipeline. Track projects and estimated product value to help aid in strategic planning
  • Works closely with multiple points of contact with our customers and suppliers to build solid relationships built on reliance and trust
  • Be active in cost savings (continuous improvement) initiatives with our customers
  • Be active in inter-company continuous improvement initiatives
  • Administers inter-company training program to increase product knowledge of all employees. Responsible for training all new employees and taking an active role in continuous education throughout the year for his/her peers
  • Helps in resolving quality/application concerns as they arise
  • Continually increases knowledge of fasteners and engineered components
  • Supports PENN’s objectives of zero defects and works within the company’s Health and Safety
  • Policy and ISO 9001 policies and procedures
  • All other duties assigned as required

Employment Requirements

  • Engineering degree from an Accredited University.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Windows, Outlook and AutoCAD (or similar drafting software).
  • Technical understanding of fasteners is an asset. Thirst for knowledge is a must.

  • Time management skills to resolve issues quickly and meet tight deadline
  • Detail-orientated to ensure targets are met and error levels are minimal
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Very strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to participate as a team member in recommending improvements to operations and processes
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain contacts, both inside and outside the organization
  • Experience in a Technical Sales role an asset

Working Conditions

  • Office environment
  • Travel requirements to vendors, customers and trade shows within North America.
