Assistant Grower Job at Under Sun Acres
Under Sun Acres is a greenhouse operation located in Leamington, Ontario that produces sweet bell peppers. The facility includes a 48-acre state-of-the-art growing area, climate control system, greenhouse logistics and packing equipment. The company is looking to expand its team with an Assistant Grower that will work with the Head Grower to implement and manage crop strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Work with head grower to implement and manage crop strategies
- Monitor climate, heating, ventilation, shading and irrigation strategies
- Analyze water testing results and determine nutrient strategies for crop
- Monitor production and quality
- Manage integrated pest management team
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Horticulture, Plant Science or a related field
- 1-2 years growing experience
- Responsible and reliable
- Ability to work in a team environment
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Supplemental pay types:
- Bonus pay
