We are seeking an Assistant General Manager to join our team and support the Regional General Manager in overseeing the operations of the Northwinds Hotel. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily tasks of the guest services and housekeeping teams. This role will report directly to the Regional General Manager, and we are looking for someone who is dedicated, reliable, and passionate about the hospitality industry. Salary: $50,000 to $53,000

Full-time/permanent

Shifts: 8-hour shifts (Weekdays, Weekends, nights & Holidays)

Key Responsibilities

*Human Resources:*

- Promotes the Basecamp brand.
- Trains and supports the housekeeping and guest services team.
- Schedules staff and stays within the labor budget.
- Allocates daily staff to duties and room allocations.
- Ensures awareness of house rules and policies.
- Follows all Basecamp policies.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Regional General Manager.

*Operation Standards:*

- Leads by example and supervises daily operations.
- Ensures staff provides the expected level of service.
- Works with the Regional General Manager to create and maintain policies and procedures.
- Proactively handles guest comments/issues.
- Helps achieve departmental goals and contributes ideas.
- Collaborates with the front desk, Housekeeping and maintenance to ensure pre-arrival requirements are met.
- Handles guest requests and communicates with other departments as needed.

*Operations:*

- Helps oversee the operations functions of the property.
- Ensures rooms/units are accurately set up for incoming and outgoing guests.
- Audits and reconciles daily labor.
- Maintains par stock of guest supplies, cleaning supplies, linen, and uniforms.
- Ensures cleaning and disinfecting standards are always maintained.
- Schedules and tracks deep cleanings.
- Inspects and documents repairs and cleanliness of property.

Requirements

- Hotel experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Post-secondary education in hotel, business management, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and point of sale software.
- Outstanding leadership skills.
- Great problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates superior written and oral communication skills.
