JOB SUMMARY - Reporting to the Manager, the Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the manager in overseeing the operations of the store. Assistant managers will be trained to perform all duties that a manager executes in the event the manager is absent. Successful candidates will demonstrate a sense of pride in the development of their team and pride in the appearance of their workplace. In addition to the above competencies, individuals with experience in basic retail industry skills such as shift balancing, inventory control, point of sale operations, back office system operation, merchandising etc, will be recognized, although training is available to develop these skills where necessary. Some travel may be necessary and must be transferable.


JOB DUTIES

  • Perform visual checks of store (inside and outside)
  • Read communication book and resolve any major issues immediately
  • Confirm daily sales and paperwork
  • Tracks and follows up on sales variances
  • Assist manager in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees
  • Assist manager in motivating and coaching staff
  • Abide by all policies, procedures, operational guidelines, and government regulations
