carter's inc. Canada, a growing national retailer of children's apparel, requires a full-time contract Associate, Order Processing (Level 2) for our Distribution Centre located in Cambridge, Ontario.

Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Order Processing the role involves the following:

• Housekeeping, safety and warehouse compliance in area of processing
• Order picking and packing through Retail Put-to-Store, Bulk or Dynamic processing functions
• Responsible for Order processing inventory management including clean up and repackaging of over pull inventory
• Labeling cartons with the correct shipping and content labels
• Responsible for quantity and quality picked into an outbound carton
• Sorting shipping/content labels and matching to the correct outbound case
• Maintaining effective and quality picking activity
• Managing packing exceptions including shortages
• Working with Material Handlers to prioritize inventory shortage resolutions
• Responsible for the reconciliation of all orders by date as directed by supervisor
• Shipping customer orders within defined SLA
• Achieving and maintaining inventory accuracy of 99.97%
• Operating fork lift, Walkie Rider, Order Picker and hand truck equipment as required
• Completion of safety checks prior to operation of equipment
• Using RF Scanner/Completing Certification for Operating Lift/Picker/Reach Equipment/Completing Vehicle Inspection
• Pulling replenishment task – bringing inventory from reserve racking to active location
• Meeting employee productivity and accuracy targets
• Maintaining minimum performance standards while performing required job functions
• Knowing, understanding and following all Standard Operating Procedures
• Working safely and abiding by all of Carter’s safety rules and procedures
• Other tasks as assigned
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year experience, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of hand (RF) scanners and experience using WMOS
• Use mechanized equipment as needed
• Skilled at multi-tasking and able to react quickly to frequent priority shifts
• Detail oriented and the ability to maintain focus in a high activity processing setting
• Able to work closely with others (teamwork)

Physical Demands:

• Repetitively lift cases weighing up to 50lbs
• Work in a multi-channel, multi-shift distribution environment, flexible to work different shifts and extended hours based upon business needs
• Stand and work for long periods including daily overtime, holidays and overtime as required
• Intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward
• Work in varying temperatures
• CSA approved Green Tag safety shoes required
