Job Description

The National Life, Disability & Wellness Team is looking for a self-motivated Bilingual CPP/QPP Analyst, who thrives on delivering value, is customer-obsessed, and excited to work with a small yet dynamic team. They will have good understanding of Canada Pension Plan / Quebec Pension Plan and its impact on disability benefits as well as strong mathematical and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate and code the CPP/QPP offset and adjusted LTD benefit in Navigator upon receipt of CPP/QPP disability or retirement benefit approval.

  • Inform Plan Member of the overpayment amount with clear explanations.

  • Follow-up with Plan Member and/or Service Canada/ Retraite Quebec for reimbursement of overpayment and negotiate an acceptable repayment plan when necessary.

  • Proceed with claim recoveries in Navigator

  • Review CPP/QPP decline letters and determine if Plan Member should appeal the decision or reapply later.

  • Determine if utilization of the services of an external CPP Advocate is warranted.

  • Oversee a group e-mail inbox and provide responses on a rotation basis

On the job you will:

  • Collaborate with the CPP Senior Disability Administrator and Case Management teams to strengthen financial results.

  • Work closely with other colleagues to prioritize work especially during peak times (end of year)

  • Establish good working relationships with Service Canada and Retraite Québec agents to facilitate our work

What we are looking for

  • Bilingual in French and English is required as 80% of the work is in French

  • Strong customer service focus; ability to be empathetic while delivering sometimes difficult messages

  • Strong math skills

  • Very comfortable with Office 365; most notably Excel and Word

  • Experience with Navigator is an asset

  • Able to read and interpret group insurance contracts and apply their provisions

  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • A capacity for constant learning from both success and failure

  • Open to change and continuous improvement

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in disability benefit calculations is helpful

  • Knowledge of Canada Pension Plan and Quebec Pension plan legislation preferred

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

CAN, Quebec - Full Time Remote

Salary range is expected to be between

$38,625.00 CAD - $64,375.00 CAD
