What we need

The Bookkeeper is a key part of strategic decision making. The company’s growth plans rely on the proper execution of the responsibilities of this role. The areas of accountability are as follows:

Deliverables

  • Execute payroll accurately and on time
  • Maintain accurate and timely books for management accounting purposes
  • Lead the monthly financial review
  • Maintain accurate and timely books for tax accounting compliance

Accountabilities

Deliverable 1 – Execute payroll accurately and on time

  • Onboard new employees into ADP Workforce Now
  • Terminate existing employees from ADP and issue ROEs
  • Accurately process payroll weekly in ADP
  • Coach employees on accurate timesheet coding
  • Produce weekly hours of work and costs report
  • Import payroll general ledger files into Sage Business Cloud Accounting
  • Produce monthly union remittance report
  • Execute annual T4 process in ADP
  • Manage quarterly WCB remittance in conjunction with ADP

Deliverable 2 – Maintain accurate and timely books for management accounting purposes

  • Use Sage Business Cloud Accounting, Auto Entry, Outlook, One Drive and various vendor/customer accounting systems for record keeping
  • Accurately assign project, market segment, general ledger, payment status and tax codes to transactions
  • Monitor the accounting shared inbox
  • Work with other employees, vendors and customers to obtain records where necessary
  • Process bank feeds and reconciliations
  • Produce regular accounts payable and accounts receivable reports
  • Pay vendors using credit card when instructed by owner
  • Produce regular profit and loss statements by project
  • Calculate and submit monthly PST remittance
  • Continuously streamline and automate bookkeeping processes

Deliverable 3 – Lead monthly financial review

  • Produce and present financial management reports to owners monthly

Deliverable 4 – Maintain accurate and timely books for tax accounting compliance

  • Maintain records in Sage Business Cloud Accounting that are compliant with tax accounting requirements for several companies
  • Collect the documents required by tax accountant for financial year end
  • Respond to tax accountant queries for financial year end

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15 per week

Salary: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
