Since being founded in the northern community of Flin Flon we have grown significantly by diversifying within the transportation industry. We are currently seeking a Working Bulk Supervisor to join our team in our Brandon Terminal.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads operations to the fullest capacity to meet the needs of customers
  • Provides positive customer service to all internal and external customers
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily work schedules for terminal operations staff.
  • Assist with the hiring and training of approximately 20 operations staff members.
  • Coordinate and maintain equipment and terminal facilities as required.
  • Supervise, lead and coach employees in all areas of operations including safety, efficiency in runs, loading and unloading trucks, claim management, and dispatch
  • Maintain staff levels that insure an acceptable level of productivity and performance
  • Monitor movement to ensure maximum load factors and service levels
  • Communicate regularly with Bulk Terminal Manager and VP on opportunities and risks to the business
  • Work with all employees to ensure smooth operations under all conditions
  • Assist with terminal operational activities
  • Administer reporting and record keeping on key KPI’s that include productivity, utilization and service levels
  • Minimize severity and frequency of accidents with drivers through risk identification process
  • Ensure the proper loading of trailers to maximize load factors and minimizing claims.
  • Develop and execute training plan for all drivers and applicable employees
  • Manage inventory of tools and supplies to reduce risk, loss and damage
  • Practices Safe work procedures and ensures team practices safe work
  • Assists as needed in all areas that affect the operations goals and objectives; thereby, the company goals and objectives
  • Other duties as assigned and required

Qualifications
Ideally you have a minimum of three years’ experience in Bulk operations. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure and manage critical and unplanned requirements. Strong interpersonal skills to foster and build working relationships with a diverse workforce, in addition to customers. Competent ability and capacity to get the job done through a hands on approach. Experience using all Microsoft Office programs. Working knowledge of WHMIS and the Health & Safety Act. Valid Class 1 license is required.
