Job Description
What you can expect in a typical day
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Team Leader of our Bulk Plant! The Bulk Plant Team Lead will ensure alignment of the team, provide a dedication to the day to day operations and have a focus on continuous improvement initiatives to achieve business objectives. While ensuring the Bulk Plants are in proper working order on a daily basis and maintaining adequate inventory levels to meet our customer demands the successful candidate will instill the importance of the Supply Chain for Irving Energy Development.

Your roles and responsibilities:
  • Compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Maintain appropriate daily inventory levels
  • Work with the Inventory Coordinator in Dartmouth.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance completed as required
  • Support Bulk Plant Operators
  • Assist in the budget preparation
  • Make recommendations on capital spends
  • Manage within or under plan for annual budget
  • Support the business line KPIs
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Support field operations
  • Participate in weekly Call with Asset Manager.
  • Ensures alignment of team and individual goals, focusing on change and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve business objectives
  • Provides clear direction by establishing and regularly communicating performance expectations and results with the team, and takes appropriate actions to address issues as and when they arise
  • Holds individuals accountable for their commitments, job performance and behaviors by regularly providing timely, specific and constructive feedback
  • Demonstrates an ability to make difficult decisions to support strategy
  • Builds trust and support through active networking with other departments
  • Demonstrates, communicates and rewards Company values
  • Ensure business reliability through managing all health, safety and environmental programs and issues including participation in the Location or District Safety Committee.
Professional skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude considered an asset
  • NS Bulk Plant Operator Fuel Safety License an asset
  • Experience handling hazardous materials, and technical skills related to mechanical trades are preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to lead by example and action oriented
Travel
  • Travel is a requirement for this position.
Education and experience
  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience in mechanical, manufacturing or liquid inventory management related industry
  • Up to 3yrs of leadership/management experience
