With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canada's largest beef processors. Consisting of four locations—the main processing facility located in Brooks, Alberta, where approximately 4,200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily; the Head Office and a case ready plant, both based in Calgary, Alberta; and JBS Ontario, a case ready plant located in Belleville, Ontario. The JBS Canada facility in Brooks has the capacity to produce products ranging from boxed beef primals, ground beef, beef trimmings, beef by-products and hides which are shipped across Canada and worldwide. At the multi-protein Mountain Creek Farms case-ready facility in Calgary, JBS Canada produces value-added products including marinated, portion sized, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more. JBS Ontario in Belleville produces fresh meat and seafood products for leading retailers in Canada.

During the pandemic, we have implemented hundreds of safety measures including offering unlimited PPE, constructing permanent physical barriers, establishing physical distancing protocols, and installing hospital-grade ventilation systems in all of our facilities.

This position is a key for sales teams (Domestic and International) success and requires an analyst that can both build and interpret results, pulling from multiple system sources. The right business analyst will program and build system reports after working cross functionally within the company and external partners to determine needs. All while following guidelines and deadlines within the sales department.


JBS Food Canada is seeking an experienced, ambitious and highly motivated Business Analyst to join its dynamic team in servicing the retail and food service sectors in Canada.

NOTE: This role will be located in the head office in Calgary, Alberta.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree required in related field;
  • 3+ years of associated work experience in Process Improvement and Analysis;
  • Experience in a business analyst or programming role. Strongly considered in a protein Industry;
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering concepts;
  • Strong knowledge in VBA & MS Office is required;
  • Knowledge in QlikSense, SQL, SAP Business Objects, C# is preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and optimize cost/benefit analysis;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with high attention to detail;
  • Ability to think ahead and anticipate issues before they arise;
  • Ability to apply best practices for effective communication and problem solving;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills;
  • Self-directed, has initiative and a strong multi-tasking ability;
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities:

  • Building analysis reports using Excel, QlikSense, or other systems.
  • Implement comprehensive management plans for day to day management of multiple projects, holding regular meetings to support and hold participants accountable and senior management informed of project progress.
  • Monitor the development and progress of projects by tracking activity, resolving problems, identify and evaluate potential opportunities and recommending actions to improve;
  • Provide analytical support in areas such as market research, raw material markets, and industry trends. Compile analysis reports for senior management review;
  • Develop and manage trend research projects and analysis to understand logistical and business nuances;
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data from different sources and trends for presentation to senior management;
  • Assess, research and propose improvements to existing applications and procedures in sales, and other areas in the company;
  • Master strategic business process modeling, traceability and quality management techniques;
  • Continually pursue ways to improve and automate processes, identify issues and recommend actions to improve value to the customer;
  • Work with a high sense of urgency and the ability to swiftly and accurately respond to ad-hoc requests, while prioritizing to meet deadlines;
