About the role

  • Meet with end-users to document application requirements, consult with enterprise peers to assess and evaluate solution options
  • Research, evaluate and recommend solutions and appropriate technology to meet user's needs.
  • Assess buy vs build options, assess costs of delivering your proposed solution to help build support for the project
  • Ensuring that all solution designs follow Enterprise Reference Architecture principles, Corporate Information Security and related policies where applicable.
  • Arrange project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; preparing a workflow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.
  • Design, develop, document, analyze, create, test and modify programs and integrations.
  • Maintains programming guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains applications and databases by evaluating client needs; analyzing requirements; developing software systems.
  • Must be eligible for Government of Canada Secret (NATO) Level Clearance

What you bring to the role

  • You have experience as a business applications developer
  • You have experience developing .NET web applications
  • You have developed SharePoint applications that use complex workflows and integrations into enterprise services
  • You understand SharePoint site collections and security models
  • Familiar with SDLC
  • Familiar with ITIL Incident Management and Change Request process
  • You have experience with responsive web design
  • Proven experience working with following:
    • C#
    • HTML5
    • CSS
    • jQuery
    • XML
    • Java Script
    • Classic ASP for Applications
  • Windows .NET Framework, including VB.Net and ASP.Net programming experience
  • Proven experience in writing fine-tuned SQL queries, stored procedures (eg.T-SQL code) and working with data in relational databases like SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.
  • Ability to recognize and resolve system related problems; work independently and make necessary decisions throughout the systems process within department guidelines.
  • You have worked with end-users directly to document user business requirements and translate those business requirements into functional requirements
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to be able to interface effectively with a broad range of contacts from technical staff to senior management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and to work successfully under pressure.
  • Analytical thinker, with ability to solve problems.
  • Can deal with ambiguity and requests for change.
  • Quick and continuous learner with proactive attitude to the job duties.
