We are seeking a Business Support Systems (BSS) Solution Architect. This position is a key member of the IT BSS department, whose primary responsibility is managing and providing support for the Eastlink Enterprise applications and solutions, particularly within the Billing and Customer Care systems. This position is a work from home position and would be required to come to the office on 6080 Young Street, Halifax, NS once per quarter. The BSS Solution Architect will provide technical leadership for solution architecture, deployment methods and product configuration across all BSS applications.

The candidate will work within a very dynamic and fast paced environment and must possess the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, deal with tight deadlines, and manage within an ever changing environment. Extremely customer focused, the candidate should enjoy working closely with business stakeholders in a collaborative manner. Key responsibilities: Develop and maintain key artefacts across all BSS applications/systems, such as: • Solution Architecture Roadmaps • Interface and process design • Sequence and Data flow diagrams • Collaborate with internal and external Development teams to review business requirements, system impacts and design for new applications or new features for existing applications; • Responsible for analyzing, designing and developing commercially viable end-to-end technical solutions based on the customers specifications and business needs; • Ensure that functional & non-functional stakeholders' requirements are captured and they are regularly informed about product selection/development processes, costs, and budgeting; • Convert a set of requirements into a blueprint that has details on design and architecture of the technical solution. Ensure the resulting technical solution complies with best practices around information storage and security; • Analyze technology industry and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise solutions and recommend improvements; • Identify solution constraints and analyze alternatives, mitigate risks and conduct re-evaluation as necessary with respect to process/solution.

Qualifications: • Post-secondary education in computer science or related discipline; • Configurations Management and Process Flow experience is preferred; • Relevant experience designing, architecting and implementing solutions in Enterprise environments; • Knowledge/Understanding of containerized environments (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker); • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL or other query languages; • Familiar with Linux/Unix and scripting skills; • Ability to demonstrate strong networking skills; • Experience with Python scripting/automation preferred; • Previous working experience in telecommunication industry is considered an asset; • Effective in anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary in an ever-changing environment; • Creative in developing solution to business problems, and willing to consider non-traditional lines of thinking; • Knowledge of Agile methodology; • Self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision; • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
