As a Cannabis Processing Intern, you will collaborate with a team of cannabis experts to process post-harvest material, craft exceptional cannabis products, carry out packaging and labeling tasks, and provide support to our cultivation team.

Cannabis Processing Technician responsibilities:

  • Trim, manufacture, package, and label cannabis products.
  • Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures in compliance with cannabis regulations, legislation, and facility standards.
  • Maintain and calibrate production and sanitation equipment.
  • Safely handle concentrated materials, including cleaning agents and concentrated food product compounds.
  • Clean and sanitize all production equipment, tools, and workstations.
  • Accurately complete records and documentation for all production activities.
  • Proactively apply your educational background to prevent contamination and improve methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Must currently be enrolled in a post secondary institution to qualify for funding.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have been granted refugee status to qualify for internship funding.
  • Students studying within a field that directly relates to aspects of the Cannabis industry, such as STEAM (sciences, technologies, engineering, arts, and mathematics) are given preferential consideration, but not required.
  • Local to the Edmonton area or able to commute, with reliable transportation.
  • Able to perform physical activities for duration of shift (standing, walking, moving equipment, stairs) including repetitive movements (packaging, production).
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. (22kg)
  • Comfortable squatting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as needed, including but not limited to sanitary clothing covers, gloves, mask, respirator, and/or eye protection while working.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 prior to entering the facility.

Hours: 40 hours/week until September, part-time opportunities may be available after the first 4-month term. Typical shifts are 9:00-5:30, but early or late shifts may be accommodated.

Shifts may be one of the following:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Sunday to Thursday
  • Tuesday to Saturday

Contract length: 4 months
Part-time hours: 40 per week
