Amherst Supply Ltd. is a family-owned and operated store in the lumber, building supply, and agricultural feed industry. We are looking for a driven, organized individual to help in the day-to-day business operations of our new location on Alma Street in Amherstburg!

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Provides excellent customer service and positively engages with all customers by greeting them and displaying a warm demeanor
• Maintains a neat and organized checkout area
• Accurately scans or enters product data
• Provide an efficient check out experience
• Execute cash handling to standards
• Engage customers on benefits of store rewards and complete enrollments for loyalty cards

• Responsible to complete merchandise recovery and maintenance to include the merchandise return / go back process
• Acknowledge customers, help locate product and provide solutions
• Interacts with others in an accepting and respectful manner; remains positive and respectful, even in difficult situations; promotes commitment to the organization’s vision and core values; projects a positive image and serves as a role model for others
• High proficiency in computer software and POS systems

• Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, and ensure that it is clean and safe

• Utilize computer terminals and/or portable device to check inventory, look-up orders and notify customers when product is ready for pick-up

• Daily/Monthly stock counting
• Store recovery and cleaning
• Some Heavy lifting required; bending, kneeling, standing for extended periods of time; must be comfortable with ladders

• Key Holder (opening and closing store)
• Motivation to gain product knowledge and attend trainings/seminars for growth
• Execute Company policies and standards

• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

-Knowledge of building materials and/or agricultural feed/pet supplies

- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends (Saturdays & Sundays)

- Good mathematical skills

- Experience working in a sales driven environment is an asset

- Excellent communication and reading skills

- Excellent decision making ability and problem solving skills

- Detail oriented

- Part-time/Full-time hours: 25-40 per week

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Salary: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
