POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Cashier Specialist you will travel between a set amount of store locations (up to 6) and liaise with our store Cash Managers (and their teams) and be hands-on in the stores in helping observe and share recommendations to enhance the customer shopping experience and support day-to-day activities. You will be required to oversee the responsibilities of the Department Manager in their absence and to develop functional requirements for the Front-End system (Point of Sale, Self Checkouts & Pin Pads).

Responsibilities:

· Fills in when there is shortage in staffing at a particular location

· Onboarding and hands on training of new Cash Managers

· Oversee the responsibilities of the Department Manager in their absence (vacation, open position etc). Including but not limited to ensuring that the cash schedule is completed, day-to-day processing of customers, dealing with customer inquiries, etc...

· Provide assistance to the Department Manager in supervising and facilitating the daily operations of the department.

· Ongoing training of Cash Managers and Assistant Cash Managers

· Act as a keyholder and Manager in Charge to open or close the store(s), when necessary

· Help with the setup and training of staff for NEW Store Openings

· Organize and participate in monthly conference calls with all Cash Managers

· Learn & support our Front-end systems and create technical documentation for new initiatives and projects

  • Liaise with store management team in capturing requirements and documenting new processes and share opportunities for process efficiencies
  • Review and update documentation for policies, procedures, standards and guidelines

· Communicate with Department Managers about any customer service issues or concerns and/or follow-up with customers about a specific issue

· Ensure store requirements are met on a daily basis

· Audit Front End procedures and compliance by visiting locations

· Other duties as necessary

Effort and Work Conditions:

  • Work schedule varies (days and nights) but must include one day on the weekend and one night a week (until 10pm)
  • Travel is required (vehicle is necessary)

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

· Must have 3+ years Cashier Management experience.

· Must have 3+ years in the Grocery business

· Outstanding customer service skills

· Knowledge and familiarity with electronic equipment (e.g. cash register, scanners, money counters etc)

· Basic math skills and memorization

· Must be able to lead, support and contribute to team goals.

· Ability to multitask and have excellent organizational skills is essential.

· Must have the capacity to take initiative when problems arise.

· Able to communicate both verbally and in writing; Excellent listening skills

· Attention to detail in all areas of work

· Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills

· Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

· Professional demeanor under stressful situations

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

· Must be good with Microsoft Office

  • Understanding and working knowledge of POS systems
