Castlegar Operations Manager

Alopex Couriers is looking for a highly skilled People Leader to join our Team.

As the Operations Manager, you are accountable for supporting the day-to-day operations and ensuring that employees are working in a safe and efficient manner.

This position requires strong attention to people and safety, continuous improvement initiatives, problem solving and effective communication in a dynamic logistics environment.

Objectives of the Role

• Determining work requirements and managing employees to ensure efficient and time sensitive sorting of packages and deliveries
• Make informed decisions based on safety and industry standards that comply with company processes, policies, and procedures
• Work collaboratively with Human Resources and other Departments to build a positive culture and healthy work environment through mentoring, coaching and acting as a knowledge resource to other employees
• Responsible for understanding and use of key financial and budget metrics used to facilitate bottom line awareness
• Demonstrate a level of care that protects and maintains company assets while minimizing operational cost and maximizing operational quality
• Use situational leadership to set clear priorities and develop people through sharing of relevant information and appropriate performance management processes

Qualifications

• Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Two to three years of progressive senior management and leadership experience
• Certification program or degree in transportation or operations management or one year of college courses and working towards a degree
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Location – Castlegar, BC

Fast-paced Logistics Environment

Job Type: Full-time salaried position

Compensation:

Annual salary between $75,000 and $90,000

Health Spending Account ($1500 - $2000 Annually)
