Annual Salary: $92,611.35 - $115,767.60

Reporting to the Director of Care and Associate Administrator at HRM, the Clinical Manager LTC is accountable for the management of clinical practice and for the day-to-day operation of the Home. Key responsibilities include providing clinical leadership, staff development, and supervision; ensuring quality improvement and evaluation, financial planning and control; managing the work environment; and for facilitating interprofessional collaboration within the teams and acting as a role model, mentor, and coach to all team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:
  • Current unrestricted certificate of registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum one year experience working as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse in the long-term care sector
-Minimum three years' experience working as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity in the health care sector. -Demonstration knowledge of and ability to interpret applicable legislation and related regulations, codes, and standards; specifically, the Long-Term Care Homes Act and Regulations, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Skills/Abilities:
  • Superior ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Superior ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, subordinates, public officials, residents, and families
  • Ability to identify, understand, and meet/exceed the requirements of internal and external customer
  • Ability to think and act strategically in a health care sector environment
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to direct, motivate, evaluate, ad recognize staff; proven ability to share skill and knowledge with others
  • Excellent project/time management, analytical/critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proven conflict management abilities and mediation skills
  • Proficiency with office computer equipment and relevant software
  • Competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health & Safety Act

Assets:
  • Certificate in long-term care administration
  • Master's degree in a health or management-related field and/or certification in Gerontological Nursing would be an asset
  • Membership in a professional association (i.e. RNAO or RPNAO) is an asset
  • Knowledge of the functions of the SJCG operation

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
  • This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
