CNC Programmer / Operator [Mould/Die] Job at Synergy Mouldworks Inc.

Synergy Mouldworks is a long-established and leading manufacturer of plastic injection moulds for the Cap and Closure, Medical/Pharmaceutical containers and consumer goods industries. We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/ Operator with mould/die making industry experience, accustomed to working in a fast paced team-oriented environment. The successful candidate will produce mould components per the design specifications and internal quality standards, meeting cost and timeline expectations.

Essential Functions:

  • Programming & manufacture of a variety of mould components to specified requirements.
  • Set-up workpieces, program, and operate 3 Axis CNC machining centers
  • Develop and modify CNC programs as needed.
  • Inspect tooling and/or components using calibrated measuring equipment.
  • Roughing & finishing of mould bases – all 2D & 3D work
  • Roughing inserts & components for heat treating
  • Pre-finishing & finishing of inserts 2D & 3D
  • Surface Grinding when neccesary
  • Polishing moulds when necessary
  • Assembly and disassembly of all components required in mould build and repair process
  • Assemble moulds for final fit & finish
  • Maintain tools so they stay in correct working order
  • Do minor Preventative maintenance on machines
  • Support/communicate with production team, other mould manufacturers/repairers, apprentices and engineers
  • Research new technologies, attends webinars, stays current with new tooling & other new innovative products, machining concepts, & ideologies.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient working knowledge of CNC Computer/CAD software(Cimatron) working with 2D & 3D surfaces to tight tolerances.
  • Completion of apprenticeship program; or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five (5) years experience operating CNC vertical milling machines, including exposure to a variety of mould manufacturing and plastic injection moulding processes/ technologies
  • Mould Maker certificate an asset
  • Working knowledge of: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, web based apps.
