Evergreen Communication Therapy Ltd. is currently looking for a passionate, creative, and personable Communicative Disorders Assistant to join the Halton-Peel Community Aphasia Programs (H-PCAP) and Evergreen Communication Therapy Ltd. clinical team.

Currently, many of our services are virtual. Travel within Halton and Peel regions is also required for in-person groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one and/or small group speech and language therapy for adults
  • Facilitate aphasia group therapy programs
  • Plan and prepare programming and complete other administrative tasks identified by supervising SLP and management
  • Maintain clinical documentation and data
  • Assist with client and caregiver training, workshops, and events
  • Maintain knowledge in current evidence-based practices
  • Supervise students and volunteers
  • Participate in team meetings and clinical rounds

Skills, Requirements, and Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited Communicative Disorders Assistant program
  • Strong interpersonal skills and time-management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Trained in Supported Conversation for Adults with Aphasia (SCATM) preferred
  • Comfort using technology and software programs (i.e., Zoom, Word, Excel etc.)
  • Experience working within an interdisciplinary team
  • Takes initiative, works well independently and in a team environment
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle may be required
  • Current police check for the vulnerable sector
