Columbia Containers is looking for a full-time company driver to join our team! We are Canada’s largest growing container transloading facility and have been operating since 1970. Columbia Containers is strategically located on just over 13 acres of land on the Port of Metro Vancouver’s (PMV) South Shore and provides dependable, efficient, flawless service for customers looking for the safe containerization, transportation, and delivery of bulk grain products. Columbia Containers specializes in transloading grain from rail cars to ocean containers while ensuring deadlines are met. This process involves coordinating four critical elements in the supply chain:

1) The arrival of grain via rail.

2) Availability of empty containers from shipping lines.

3) Plant capacity to transload the grain.

4) Trucking services to pick up empty containers and deliver the load to terminals in the PMV area.

Columbia Containers is currently seeking a full time Company Truck Drivers for port/yard container work, whose commitment to teamwork and safety will continue to support our operational success.

This is a unionized position and Drivers must be able to work Mondays-Saturdays on an on-call basis, normal Day shift starts at 7 am- 3pm and the Afternoon shift starts at 4 pm to 12 am; 30-40+ hours per week.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Experience and Skills:

• Preferred candidates would have at least 1 year of previous Port/container experience but for the right individual training would be provided.
• Must possess BC Driver License Class 1 with air brakes.
• B-train experience preferred, but not necessary.
• Clean Driver's Abstract: *please attach your commercial driver's abstract along with your resume when you apply. *
• Ability to communicate fluently in English language; both verbal and written.
