telMAX is building a 100% pure fibre network across underserved communities across Ontario. For the past 2 years, telMAX has built its own fibre optic network. ROLE: Construction Field Inspector

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Field inspections to ensure fiber to the home (FTTH) build adherence with outside plant construction plans, designs and permits.
• Ensure job sites and practices are adhering to Health and Safety requirements and appropriate insurance coverages are valid and all contractors have all appropriate onboarding documents.
• Oversee field work aligns with project schedules including but not limited to project documentation, daily worksheets, project plans and material demands on inventory.
• Track and validate field work with the Sr Construction Manager and Project Manager to verify that all contractors’ performances are meeting forecasts.
• Review all issued for construction plans and ensure full understanding of each project’s scope, specifications and understood with field resources.
• Coordinate review of as built information with Construction Manager and assure that this information is being completed and distributed in a timely manner.
• Coordinate the project close-out process with the client and obtain final sign off.
• Work with Operations to assure timely turn-over of projects for sales and drop crews.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

• At least 5 years field Underground Infrastructure experience is a must.
• At least 5 years Experience in FTTH Telecom Construction.
• Proven experience working with the underground utilities, understanding the placement and routing of those types of utilities/fiber optic, fiber splicing, optical testing and cable tv pathways/ aerial and MDU
• Full comprehension of construction plans
• Ability to manage difficult customer and employee situations
• Ability to issue, monitor, and QC work in an organized, positive, safe, and efficient manner
• Knowledge of the use and operating characteristics of a variety of light and heavy equipment used in construction and maintenance
• Knowledge of the hazards incidental to maintenance and construction involved and of the safety measures to be observed
• Individuals must have a valid driver’s license
