Construction Labourer – Atlantic Road Construction and Paving

Atlantic Road Construction & Paving is a large heavy civil construction company specializing in heavy civil excavation and flatworks, pipeline placement, concrete placement and asphalt paving. We are currently looking to hire energetic, hard-working Labourers to join our growing team in the HRM area. There is still lots of work to be done this construction season, so we need your help!

Requirements:

• Must be reliable, punctual and possess a positive attitude.
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
• Able to work as a team and communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers, ensuring all tasks are being completed in a safe and timely manner.
• Valid class 5 drivers licence and reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
• Previous experience as a labourer or construction labour considered and asset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Thoroughly inspect tools and equipment daily.
• Participate in safety conscious activities such as tailgate meetings every morning.
• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all rules and regulations set forward by foremen.
• Loading and unloading construction materials.
• Perform a large variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour.
• Possibility of working in confined spaces such as trenches, manholes, etc.
• Other various construction related activities as instructed

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Halifax, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• construction: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Drivers License and reliable transportation (required)
