Nomina offers a truly unique approach to the treatment of mental health disorders. Our facility is looking for a motivated, proactive and innovative individual to join our energetic team. Nomina Wellness is seeking an accounts manager / comptroller to provide the daily accounting, finance and accounts management of the Nomina programs.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage all accounting transactions, budgets, and loan activities.
  • Assist CFO and executive on plans for business growth and new opportunities by designing, articulating, and implementing strategies.
  • In coordination with CFO, create and manage annual budgets.
  • Manage Accounts Payable
  • Work with Nomina team to manage Accounts Receivable
  • Manage and reconcile expense accounts
  • Manage pay systems/program/payroll
  • Manage enrolment/removal of employees in the health care and dental programs
  • Oversee and manage approved employee spending (receipt reconciliation, reimbursement, tracking)
  • Track revenue, expenditures, and create monthly reporting
  • Ensures that month-end and year-end close processes are completed on time and accurately.
  • Creates financial statements in a timely manner.
  • Manage WorkSafeBC accounts
  • Keep management informed of financial state and any potential upcoming pressures
  • Audit accounts as required
  • Train subordinates as required
  • Follow Nomina policies & procedures pertaining to your specific job
  • Other financial/accounting tasks as assigned by CFO

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant designation
  • 5+ years of job experience in a similar field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience working with accounts team as lead (beneficial)

This position is primarily an in-office position in Courtenay, BC with the opportunity for Flex Time and work from home time to be negotiated after hiring.
