What we are looking for:


The Coordinator Fire, Life Safety and Security Systems will work to provide a safe working environment for staff, professional staff, contractors, students, volunteers, visitors and patient. You will provide knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot and repair Fire Alarm, Maglock, Card Access, IP CCTV, IP Intercom, RTLS and Security Systems. Additional experince with blueprints and drawings in order to assist other skilled tradespersons in installations and relocation of safety and security equipment.


In this role you will be responsible for:


  • Programming, Installation and maintenance of Card Access systems. Determine appropriate building access required based on request, maintenance of electric strike and magnetic locking systems
  • Update and maintain I.D. badges database
  • Installation and maintenance of CCTV system and Video Intercom door access devices
  • Perform continuous checks of the Security systems to ensure it is working properly.
  • Trouble shooting and maintenance of Security Alarm and Card access system
  • Maintenance of Fire Alarm and Sprinkler systems. Contact Fire Protection vendor for replacement or repair if required.
  • Control and maintain the master key Cut and maintain keys and key control system replacement and maintenance of door Locks and hardware
  • Knowledge to estimates quantities of materials required for projects and parts required for maintenance and repair of systems and equipment
  • Responsible to recognize and report patient, staff, and environmental safety issues, identify and implement preventative and corrective actions, within the scope of this role.
  • The ability to perform mechanical repairs to equipment and facilities systems
  • The ability to maintain and repair locks.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques and protocols
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and ability to use AutoCAD
  • Computer and network skills to operate the RTLS, access control systems and video network.

What you bring to the role:


  • Secondary School diploma is required and completion of Community College Diploma in IT or Electrical/Electronic Technician or equivalent is preferred
  • 3 years experince as a Technician with Access Control, CCTV or RTLS required
  • CFAA certification is preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and ability to use AutoCAD
  • Experince with Card Access System and Security Camera System
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques and protocols
  • Computer and network skills to operate the RTLS, access control systems and video network.
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required

Work Schedule:

The successful incumbent will be required to work Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm
