Operational Leadership & Change Management. Leads and develops projects and initiatives to define scope, develop plans, implementation and evaluation. Oversees aspects of communication in collaboration with the Chief Mission and Ethics Officer. Designs and creates materials, shares information and develops staff knowledge and understanding of values and mission related issues. Provides oversight for Covenant’s participation in Clinical Pastoral Education through involvement in the Alberta Consortium for Supervised Pastoral Education, ensuring training of Supervisor-Educators and Clinical Preceptors to facilitate student learning. Human Resource & Financial Management. Management of organizational structure including Mission integration, Spiritual Care, Clinical Pastoral Education, Volunteer Services. Oversees operating budgets for designated program responsibilities within the portfolio. Responsible for multiple service contracts including, Mission Awards and CPE Supervisor-Educator secondment. Evaluates Mission Services portfolio individual and team performance. Develops reporting metric to evaluate quality, impact, and integrity of volunteer services. Strategic & Operational Planning. Develops annual goals and strategies meeting objective of effectively leading and enabling staff, volunteers and physicians to translate Covenant Health mission and core values into everyday practice. Represents Covenant Health at regional and national meetings, committees and conferences. Provides strategic leadership and policy direction to Spiritual Care and Volunteer Services. Provides collaborative leadership with partners at Catholic Health Alliance of Canada to develop and advance a community of practice for mission services. Perform related leadership functions including consults and tactical support to Covenant Care and Covenant Living. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a recognized professional/academic degree in health care, organizational development, education, ethics, theology, social work, or related discipline required. Knowledge and understanding of contemporary Catholic Theology. Experience in health care administration, healthcare programs, protocols. Patient/resident focused. Five (5) years of recent experience in leading related programs and services across a large, complex organization, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Basic developmental & interpretive knowledge of contracts and agreements. Basic knowledge of business planning, modeling, concepts and tools. Basic knowledge of project management. Communication, planning, organizational and interpersonal skills. Exceptional analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills. Ability to lead teams. Results orientated management style. Ability to thrive in a changing environment. Maintains confidentiality and protect sensitive data at all times. Adheres to organizational and departmental specific safety standards and guidelines. Works collaboratively and supports efforts of team members. Must be open and supportive with a diverse range of spirituality, faith and belief systems. Demonstrates advanced skills in group communications and group/team processes, including skills of facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution.


Preferred Qualifications:

Masters preferred. Clinical Pastoral Education, Spiritual Direction and/or Adult Education preferred. Spiritual Care environment preferred. Membership/Certification with a relevant professional association preferred.
