Data Analysis Facilitator

CCS is a settlement agency providing a range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status and is the lead agency for the Toronto East Quadrant Local Immigration Partnership (TEQ LIP). CCS is seeking a full-time Data Analysis Facilitator for our Service Delivery Data Hub project, a partnership initiative with the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus and the Toronto East Quadrant Local Immigration Partnership. The Data Analysis Facilitator will work with the Research Partnership Manager to further build and implement an exciting collaborative data pooling and analysis project that helps build evidence to inform newcomer service delivery in Scarborough.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Research Partnership Manager, service provider organizations from across Scarborough and the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus project team to facilitate pooling of service delivery data in a shared data platform
  • Work with organizations to understand their data management systems and knowledge needs
  • Support data collection from different agencies using different data management systems and facilitate data uploads in the shared data platform
  • Work with the data analytics team from the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus to conduct data analysis, support in code reviews and data quality checks, and produce reports on newcomer settlement needs and trends in Scarborough
  • Support development of research projects based on needs of participating agencies and available data
  • Support development and implementation of relevant policies, protocols and procedures to guide data-sharing and analysis
  • Participate in and actively contribute to stakeholder meetings; present findings at internal and external meetings
  • Support project partners and the University of Toronto Scarborough staff, IT consultants and university students to implement and make adjustments to the data platform
  • Support planning and implementation of capacity-building workshops for service providers
  • Support implementation of project evaluations as required by funding contracts and project needs
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely statistical and project reports as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The minimum required is post-secondary education in the Social Sciences, Data Sciences, Humanities, or a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in quantitative and/or mixed methods research and data analysis
  • Familiarity with data sources related to immigration and settlement, data analysis methods and related software, such as R, Pandas, Power BI, Python and Jupyter Notebook
  • Proven ability to work in multi-stakeholder partnership projects
  • Knowledge of issues and barriers experienced by newcomers an asset
  • Understanding of organizational data collection and management systems used in the non-profit sector
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and follow through with important projects
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of information
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present complex information in a simplified way to various audiences
  • Advanced skills working productively in an MS Office environment, comfortable using electronic databases
  • A clear, mandatory criminal check must be presented before starting position
  • Ability to work in various locations across Scarborough

Location: Toronto

Compensation: $30.23 hourly

Hours of work: 35 per week; occasional evenings and weekends as required
