What You Will Do:

  • Organize and lead quality activities while providing a safe, fun, and rewarding environment
  • Serve as a positive role model and leader within your community
  • Act as a liaison within the community by assisting with and promoting facility events / programs
  • Add to your administrative and custodial skills by ensuring cleanliness of facilities and performing administrative tasks to support programs
  • Develop and utilize behavior management techniques and plans, as required
  • Gain valuable experience responding to all incidents, accidents and emergency situations and complete required report forms

This position reports to the Recreation Programmer or designate and is expected to start June 26, 2023 and end September 1, 2023.

We are looking for a team player who is enthusiastic, customer service focused and who has the following:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or enrolled in an Ontario Secondary School and working towards completion.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C required.
  • Experience working with children is considered an asset.
  • HIGH FIVE – Principles of Healthy Child Development required (or willing to obtain).
  • Good working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and WHMIS 2015.
  • Good written and verbal communication, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to provide an acceptable current vulnerable sector check.
  • Physical demands require extended periods of, walking, standing and climbing, including rough terrain, lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work schedule and shifts as stated. Work outside normal working hours may be required occasionally.
