Trinity Lutheran Church (TLC) is now accepting applications for a Full Time Childcare Manager for Trinity’s Little Children Centre (TLCC), a licensed non-profit Christian childcare facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of TLCC’s operations.

ABOUT US

TLCC is a group daycare centre for 3 to 5 year olds, and is part of TLC’s children’s ministry. We are a multi-staffed centre, with 2 sub-centres, 6 teachers and a maximum of 37 children. The church provides a large gym, outdoor playground area, and classroom spaces for TLCC’s activities.

Our goal is to share the love of Jesus with children and their families in our community, regardless of their background, offering them a quality Christian childcare program, complete with tender-loving care. We believe that children learn best in an environment surrounded by Christ’s love and teachings. Therefore, our staff is committed to providing a loving, nurturing environment, in which children will develop self-esteem and individuality. TLCC has been providing outstanding full-day, childcare to families in Richmond since 2015.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL

• Be an example of Christ’s love in a caring environment to children, families and staff
• Directly supervise and provide leadership to a team of Early-Childhood Educators, other staff members and volunteers
• Be interested in and committed to the long-term vision TLC has for the future of TLCC
• Have previous managerial and/or supervisory experience
• Have strong leadership, organizational and communication skills
• Have an ability to lead, guide, listen to, encourage and support our TLCC team
• Have an ability to plan and enhance curriculum including activities for special occasions and celebrations
• Have an ability to maintain a strong, positive and supportive relationships with parents/families
• Be able to accommodate special needs children and families
• Have administrative skills to oversee government reporting, staffing hours, child care subsidies, etc.
• Be able to manage day-to-day operations and control expenses
• Be familiar with Child Care Licensing Regulations in BC and the BC Early Learning Framework
• Stay up-to-date with changing government programs and requirements
• Ensure that the facility and equipment is properly maintained for children's use
• Be fluent in English (ability to communicate in Chinese is an asset)

THE PERFECT CANDIDATE

• Has years of experience as an ECE manager, having developed a network of contacts and resources within the ECE industry in the Richmond/Vancouver area, and demonstrated ability to manage staff and families with compassion and care.
• Feels a calling to do ministry with children and families; senses that this managerial position is an opportunity to be a Christian witness, develop long-term relationships with families, and demonstrate Christ's love to help families and children.
• (Note: Our first priority is to have an experienced ECE manager with experience in BC. So please feel free to apply if you have the experience.)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years ECE (not ECEA) experience in British Columbia
• Ideally a minimum of 3 years childcare managerial experience
• Current ECE License to Practice
• Desire to work in a Christian environment and share Jesus' love and Christian teachings with children, families and staff
• Valid childcare CPR/First Aid certificate
• Successful completion of a criminal record check
• 3 reference letters
