POSITION SUMMARY

As the Colour Developer, you will play a key role cross-functionally within the Product division, maintaining consistency of material colour and managing our corporate Colour Library. This is a unique opportunity for a process-driven individual with a keen eye for colour and design, who is interested in a dynamic and collaborative work environment within the apparel industry. You will be integral in the standardization of colour across our entire seasonal collection. As a valued team member within our Design department, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the brand and embrace change as it grows and evolves.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support in seasonal colour palette creation and standardization
  • Support in material colour research, analyzing aspirational runway and marketplace trends
  • Execute and track seasonal lab dip requests
  • Review lab dips and bulk fabric submissions for visual consistency and quality
  • Measure and track supplier performance by assessing colour matching, submit turnaround, approvals, colour quality, and communication
  • Develop and organize the material colour library, and conduct end of season maintenance
  • Provide expertise on capabilities of certain colours, identify development issues, and effectively communicate and action solutions
  • Maintain awareness of collection assortment, outfitting, and colour stories
  • Take ownership of related Product Lifecycle Calendar checkpoints and its deliverables
  • Support in presentations for seasonal colour/ merchandising meetings
  • Create seasonal colour CADs in Adobe Illustrator
  • Assist in other related duties and tasks as assigned


REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-2 years of experience in Apparel Design, Textiles Design or related fields
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work with a cross-functional team and collaborate with others
  • You are a highly organized and adaptable self-starter, with great attention to detail
  • You understand the OAK + FORT aesthetic, and are passionate about our product
  • Must be willing to take and pass a standard Colour Test, and have an excellent colour eye
