RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the implementation of a preventive maintenance program for all production and facility support equipment and maintain an accurate equipment history.
  • Identify through root cause analysis the reason for breakdowns and document corrective actions and targets to minimize equipment downtime.
  • To pursue improvement in production equipment and facilities, reduce costs and improve operating efficiencies.
  • Responsible to safely repair and/or install production machinery, supporting equipment, and components such as motors, pumps, hydraulic valves and cylinders using hand and power tools.
  • Ensuring equipment repairs and maintenance is viewed and accomplished in a cost effective manner consistent with operating budget and production requirements.
  • Utilize effective leadership and team building techniques to develop a successful department. Motivate members of the department, treat all employees with fairness, and deal with problems promptly and consistently.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Post-secondary education (preferably with an Engineering focus)
  • Licenses: Maintenance Mechanic – Millwright and/or Industrial Electrician
  • 7-10 years hands-on machine maintenance experience
  • Minimum 5 years Supervisory experience in a manufacturing Maintenance Environment.
  • Previous experience managing industrial machinery and preventative maintenance program
  • Strong understanding of troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic issues.
