Director, International Recruitment & Global Engagement

Summary

Reporting to the AVP International, the Director, International Recruitment & Global Engagement provides the leadership for international recruitment and enrolment management (for home campus as well as partner location), international business development, new revenue generating streams and international partnership development and engagement. The incumbent is accountable for developing and implementing effective strategies and programs to generate best possible recruitment, business development and partnership development outcomes. This includes the planning, innovation, relationship management and program development to attract international students from diverse backgrounds and with desired academic profiles, and international partners who are a best possible fit with Mohawk College.

As a strategic change agent, the incumbent is responsible for working closely with other senior managers across the College to identify market needs within the international educational sector and aligning these needs to the development of international recruitment and enrolment management strategies to address need of our prospective students, faculty and industry partners, and to meet institutional international enrolment and revenue targets. The incumbent is responsible for exploring market and business development opportunities, with a goal to increase and diversify incremental revenue generation capabilities of the institution. The incumbent will be a champion for innovation and creativity with respect to identifying and providing input into developing new offerings for target audiences In addition, the Director will support and promote a unique Mohawk International branded experience for all users who interact with Mohawk International. It is expected that regional marketing campaigns, institutional branding and marketing initiatives will be conducted at the discretion of the Director with support from internal collaborators in marketing and alumni relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements and manages all the international recruitment and enrollment management strategies and activities as well as leadership with the College’s broader international recruitment/enrollment programs, to achieve enrollment targets for home campus as well as partner campuses (under Public Private partnerships)
  • Leads the management of relations, agent relations, contracts and performance metrics
  • Leads the overall development and implementation of an agent strategy that supports the diversified recruitment strategy for home campus as well as partner locations, and is aligned with overall Mohawk College goals
  • Leads the development and execution of business development/new revenue generation strategy
  • Develops and executes International Partnership Develop strategy – this includes sourcing, developing and supporting international partnerships
  • Assists in the development and support of the College’s Strategic Plan, including the development of the Divisional & Departmental Operational plans.
  • Operationally responsible for the recruitment budget which includes identifying problems, problem solving, developing solutions and providing recommendations to the AVP, International
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of seven years’ experience in an International function/area with supervisory responsibilities
  • A four-year degree in Education, Business or Administration (or a combination of academic preparation plus experience)
  • Master’s degree in Education, Business, Arts/Sciences or Administration will be an asset
  • Demonstrated marketing and market analytical skills
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Progressive experience in international sales, relationship management and partnership management
  • Seasoned experience in global cultural awareness practices
  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
  • Sound decision-making, planning and management skills
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills especially in situations requiring cultural sensitivity
