Currently we seek an experienced, highly motivated and positive professional to lead our Foundation's comprehensive marketing and communications program.

The Director, Marketing and Communications leads, directs and manages communications and marketing strategies that build and position St. Joseph's as a worthy beneficiary of philanthropic support. This position reflects a combination of leadership focus with hands-on responsibility for developing creative concepts, ensuring efficient workflows and timely project delivery, as well as modern and purposeful approaches to a range of marketing, communications, community engagement and donor relations activities.

Reporting to the Chief Development and Communications Officer, the Director of Marketing and Communications provides leadership and support to a dedicated team of marketing, communications and event specialists. This role also serves as a member of the Foundation's leadership team.

Essential Qualifications

  • :
  • A university degree, preferably with a concentration in marketing and communications
  • A minimum of five to seven years of experience in marketing and communications
  • 5 to 7 years of experience leading a team and achieving identified goals and metrics
  • Previous experience in professional fund development, with an emphasis on annual giving development strategies such as event planning and direct marketing preferred
  • Proven track record as an accomplished marketing and communications professional leading creative processes with multiple audiences
  • Highly creative and collaborative
  • Demonstrated competency in media relations
  • Well-developed writing skills
  • Familiarity with print/web design and production
  • Ability to balance a range of projects effectively and meet deadlines without compromising quality
  • Strong competencies in business planning, budgeting and reporting
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to communicate well, motivate and coach team members, handle and delegate responsibilities, listen to feedback, and solve problems
  • Ability to monitor team performance and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, accuracy and professionalism
  • Self-motivated with ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage successfully with volunteers, donors, and others in a highly professional manner
  • Well-developed communication skills, including: verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Results-oriented with the ability to achieve identified metrics to contribute positively and effectively to organization's goals and objectives

  • Strong computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Raiser's Edge and related products preferred
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
Immunization Requirements
  • Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and a written commitment to follow any future Public Health recommendations and St. Joseph's Health Care London policies and processes related to Covid management in the workplace.
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
