POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the CEO/Administrator, the Fund Development Director will develop and execute a multi-year fundraising plan including major gifts, annual appeal, planned giving, monthly sustainers’ group, special events and capital campaigns, as needed. The Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer, and Director Finance in all development and fundraising endeavors.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-10+ years of fundraising experience, including experience closing major gifts and grant writing.
- Diploma (3 Year) or Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Fund Development. CFRE a definite asset.
- Experience with a small to medium size organization is an asset.
- Advance computer skills in computerized Donor systems such as Donor Perfect, Adagio
- Demonstrated leadership experience an asset.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written required.

Responsibilities
- Develop and lead organizational fundraising strategy and implementation plan to grow current annual fundraising.
- Coordinate fund raising special events, Direct employee fundraising drives, and Maintain gift recognition policies.
- Launch and build the planned giving program to benefit West Perth Village with a focus on deferred gifts such as bequest expectancies.
- Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth donors and prospects, developing and implementing tailored cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans.
- Engage and mobilize lead volunteers to engage in effective solicitations and other fundraising activities, particularly major donor engagement.
- Research and apply to foundations for grant awards for various programs as needed; manage all aspects of post-award grants including reporting requirements.
- Evaluate progress toward goals and provide regular reporting to CEO/Administrator, and the Board of Directors.
- Establish systems, processes, and tools to maximize fundraising capacity including overseeing donor management database and working with data entry staff person.
- Work closely with Board of Directors and senior management team to ensure the integrity of the West Perth Village brand in all communication pieces and efforts.
- Lead and collaborate with staff on the management and planning of fundraising events and donor receptions.
- Develop print and digital marketing collateral related to fundraising in collaboration with the Board of Directors, senior leadership team and their respective departments.
- Present fund development activities and events to various committees, including Board of Directors Fund Development Committee.
- Responsible for Departmental budget creation in conjunction Administrator and Director of Finance.
- Member of the Senior Management Team.
- Responsible for maintenance of Donor Perfect donor database.
- Maintain and records/reports to meet legislative requirements, including the control/balancing of all tax receipting as well as Government charity reporting such as CRA, Provincial authorities and other reporting systems.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental policies and procedures related to Fund Development.
- Liaison with technology providers specific to hardware and software concerns. Keeping up to date with advancing technologies to determine their value to the organization and implement where applicable.
- Plan and implement CQI measurements related to Fund Development best practices.
- Develop strategies and implement risk management through the process of measuring, or assessing risk for the organization.
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act or other applicable legislation.
- In the performance of all duties, demonstrate respect for the privacy, dignity, and individuality of all stakeholders.
- Perform all duties and demonstrate conduct in accordance with the policies and procedures of West Perth Village.
- Other duties as assigned.
