Garde Manger (entry-level) (Oakville Ontario)

STACK was opened in 2012 in Toronto and took pride in making handcrafted in-house smoked food. We pride ourselves in creating a culture that reflects the management's philosophies on positivity, exceeding our guests' expectations, work-life balance and making cutting-edge comfort foods.

We have opened our second location in Oakville as of Dec 8th, 2021; It is a beautiful 190 seat operation with a patio. Our J&R Oyler pit smokes our meats all day long.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The successful candidate will be a beginner with no experience looking to enter the culinary field. You will work under the head chef to learn how to use a knife, If you are in culinary school currently, we will offer a paid internship. If you are in high school looking to discover a potential passion before post-secondary school, we can also train and develop you.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You will be working five days a week with breaks for this job. (part-time availability for students is also an option) You will receive a meal, weekly tip out and pay bi-weekly. The restaurant has an incredible team of culinary professionals that love getting their hands dirty and covered in sauce.

Expect to come home every night smelling like a campfire and BBQ.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

-Being Punctual and respectful.

-Maintain a clean working station.

-Setting up or closing the line.

-Handling the pressure of the dinner rush.

-Ensure consistent product quality.

-Following systems and procedures as directed by our executive chef and head chef.

-A passion for working with culinary professionals and handling high-quality fresh food.

- Great speed and being physically able, you may be required to carry heavy logs.

-Great hygiene, showering, clean clothes, and knowledge of proper hand-washing are required.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Salary: $15.50-$18.00 per hour
