Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.

About The Role

Reporting to: GIS Superintendent

Position Overview

The Document Control Specialist role is responsible for the management, control, and administration of all site construction and operation documents while also ensuring their accuracy, quality, and integrity. The Document Control Specialist works to ensure orderly and accessible storage of all site documents and assists personnel in locating documents.

This position will be located either at Thunder Bay Office or Rainy River Mine Site.

Responsibilities:
Store, manage, label, and track all company documents
Scan, image, organize, and maintain all documents to the company’s document lifecycle procedures
Archive inactive records and retrieve records as required
Assist with file migrations and audits, and other administrative tasks as needed
Create and send document transmittals
Implement best practices as they relate to document control for projects and operations
Promote a site wide, team-based culture between employees, departments, and contractors
Execute work to the highest standards and in accordance with New Gold’s Policies
Periodically train other employees on records management procedures and policies

Qualifications:
Grade 12 diploma/GED preferred.
Experience in document control or records management
Strong organization and communication skills with an attention to detail
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products and SharePoint
Knowledge and experience using InEight software would be an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to self-direct and manage time with competing priorities
Good judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a team environment
Demonstrated success in building trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the local community, indigenous groups, employees, colleagues, and service providers/contractors
