We are looking for an applicant who loves to clean and organize, is able to work independently and is looking for part time work in Nipawin. This position is for 9 hours each week. Potential growth for more hours may become available in future.

As a Domestic Support Worker, your role will be to assist the home with housekeeping and organization. Applicants must be reliable, be able to bend, crouch, kneel and be on their feet for the duration of their shift. They also must possess good time management skills and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the home
  • Manage kitchen duties such as sanitizing countertops, cupboards, tables, and chairs, organizing within cupboards, pantry, and refrigerator.
  • Ensure that all kitchen appliances such as cooking ranges, dishwashers, and microwaves are cleaned and maintained.
  • Empty waste bins and garbage cans
  • General dusting throughout living areas.
  • Dust window blinds; Clean interior windows
  • Sanitize bathrooms including toilets, tubs, showers, mirrors, and sinks.
  • Sanitize surfaces of the home including door handles, baseboards, walls, etc.
  • Wash, fold, and put away laundry.
  • Accurately document tasks completed.

Experience

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Criminal Record Check inclusive of Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures and practices
  • Ability to read and follow instructions.
  • Knowledgeable of safety practices when using cleaning agents
  • Job experience preferred in one of the following fields: house cleaner, commercial property or hotel cleaner.

  • Effective organizational skills including time management, the ability to think clearly and logically, to problem solve effectively, and the ability to function with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism regarding demeanor, dress, language, communication, and boundaries with co-workers, Foster Parents or Caregivers
  • Have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills for team collaboration.
  • Effective, respectful, and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Impeccable working relationships and knowledge of partnering agencies.
  • Ensuring personal self-care routines relating to mental, emotional, and physical health
