County Place Early Learning and Care Center is looking for a passionate, motivated and experienced childcare Teacher to join our team.

We strive to provide children a safe and nourishing environment to thrive. We believe in the development of the “whole child” and our programs are designed to meet the emotional, social, intellectual, physical and spiritual needs of each child. We view the Center as an extension of the family, where home and childcare will work together for the benefit of the child.

Level 2/3 Teacher responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Supervision of Teachers and children during arrival and departure. We greet parents and children by name.

- Supervise to insure planned / structured activities are being done in your assigned age group, including but not limited to, arts, crafts, music, games, math, science, reading, problem solving, colours, free play and any indoor and outdoor activities.

- Assist the children with clean up: of themselves, of spills or messes they make, hand washing – before and after going to the bathroom, and diaper changing.

- Supervise and assist with meal and snack preparation, serving, cleaning up, dental hygiene

- After lunch – cleaning tables, sweeping, mopping and disposal of garbage

- Supervise and assist with nap/quiet time preparations – getting mats and blankets out and putting the children down for a rest period.

- Interact with children during free play, outdoor play, and structured play activities. Children should have at least two water breaks each day, especially during the summer months.

- Supervise and assist with lesson plans and related activities, music, games, and field trips.

- Hand wash and groom children at the end of the day and write daily reports to give to parents.

- Supervise and assist with daily cleaning procedures – including but not limited to – vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning of the bathrooms, taking out trash, dusting – cubbies, windows, sterilizing toys, mats and outdoor area.

- Assist in covering for other staff when staff is absent to ensure Teacher-Child ratios are maintained. Setting up staff schedules, covering lunch breaks and covering ratios at opening or closing.

- Adhere to best practices in child safety as outlined on pages 12 to 19 of the County Place Early Learning and Care Centre 2021 Program Plan and future revisions thereof.

- Adhere to County Place Early Learning and Care Centre’s 2021 Program Plan, COVID-19 Preparedness and Rapid Response Plan and Policy Documents and any future revisions thereof. Employees are responsible to read and acknowledge that they understood these documents.

All applicants must have or be willing to obtain:

1. ECE certification: Level 1, 2, or 3 is required.

2. Child Care First Aid is required.

3. Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

4. Child Intervention Check is required.

A Food Handler CIFS Certification Training Course for Child Care is recommended but not a requirement for employment.

Wages shown here are competitive and depend on level of certification and experience of the candidate and are inclusive of top-up and holiday pay. A Performance Bonus, a Seniority Bonus and other Bonuses are provided based on company and employee performance.

A dental/health benefit/wellness program is offered in late 2022 for qualified employees.

Also, opportunities for promotion to the Advisory Council and or Assistant Director positions are available for incumbents with an ECE certification of Level 2 or 3.
