CML fleet of 15 trucks operates throughout central Alberta and provides service to local growers, agricultural-based businesses, and fertilizer retailers year-round.

Position Summary

CMN is hiring a full time Journeyman Electrician!

The Electrician at CMN will lay out, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in buildings and other structures throughout our Network. They will work with the management team to budget, plan and prioritize projects that ensures the CMN preventative maintenance schedule is adhered to.

Responsibilities

  • Perform predictive maintenance and corrective maintenance on facility assets
  • Complete scheduled quantitative preventative maintenance inspections on critical equipment
  • Documenting all completed work and the conditions found, utilizing CMN's maintenance computer software (SiteDocs) as necessary.
  • Work independently and/or cooperatively with personnel of various departments to troubleshoot and resolve electrical, control and process systems problems.
  • With management support the planning and carryout the installation of new equipment
  • Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Red Seal Electrician trade certification preferred
  • Master Electrician; preferred or working towards
  • 2 years or more industrial experience with HMI and PLC Systems
  • Knowledge of motor control and troubleshooting
  • Experience with variable frequency drives and various type of sensors
  • Basic computers use and typing skills
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation .
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator.
  • Must be willing to work from heights, in confined spaces, and other industrial conditions.
  • Operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and aerial work platforms.
  • Able to travel to Network locations; available all spring months to support he demands of the busy season
  • Working experience with voltage up to 600V
  • Programming experience with ladder logic, function block, and structured text.
  • Knowledge and training in workplace electrical safety standards and arc flash hazards
